Brigid, Clachan's Heart - Selesnya Turbo in cEDH

Brigid, Clachan's Heart - Selesnya Turbo in cEDH

It's been quite a long time since the last blog post here on the Loot Goblin site so I figured it was time to give an update on one of my current favorite lists...

From Stax to Speed

For a good while, I was running a stax-heavy Ellivere of the Wild Court deck. Locking down the table, grinding out value, making friends question their life choices — you know how it goes. It was fun, but it started to feel a little slow for how much the meta has started to speed up.

Then Brigid, Clachan's Heart got spoiled, and something just clicked. I'm a Selesnya player at heart so the transition felt completely natural. Brigid slotted right into that part of my brain that loves efficient, proactive gameplay.

The Deck: Turbo Gaea's Cradle

At its core, this is a Gaea's Cradle deck. The goal is simple: go fast, go wide, and close out the game on turns 3 or 4 (If you're lucky turn 2). Brigid enables some really explosive lines that reward you for building a board quickly, and in a format where the average cEDH game is decided in the first few turns, that speed matters a lot.

I'm not going to run through all the lines in detail here but to sum it up. Flip Brigid as soon as possible and dump mana into an outlet of some sort id the jist. I've got the decklist up on Moxfield: Check it out here

Playing cEDH Locally

One thing I love about the local cEDH scene is how tight-knit it is. Everyone knows the meta, everyone's testing new lines, and there's a real sense of community around pushing the format. If you haven't tried it yet and you're a competitive-minded player, I'd genuinely recommend finding a local pod or jumping into a Discord server for your area.

It's also just a great excuse to make your setup look good at the table. I've been playing on the Forest Elves Stitched Edge Premium Mat lately, the green tones feel right at home for a Selesnya deck, and the stitched edge holds up great through long tournament nights. If you're more of a "vibe over theme" player, the Forest Night mat is another one I keep coming back to.

Tokens Matter Too

Even in a turbo shell, you're going to be making creatures, and having quality tokens on the table makes a difference, both practically and aesthetically. We've got Elf tokens in the shop that fit right into a Selesnya go-wide strategy, and if your meta runs a lot of token producers, having a clean set of Wolf or Elemental tokens on hand never hurts either. Kithkin tokens are definitely on Carla's to do list now too.

Final Thoughts

Brigid has been one of the most fun pivots I've made in Commander. If you're a Selesnya fan who's been curious about cEDH, or just looking for a fast, proactive deck that rewards good sequencing, I'd say give her a look.

As always, happy brewing and may your Gaea's Cradle never get Strip Mined 🌲
